A new gimmick match? That's what it's come down to for the former star of CWF? What ever happened to the days when greatness was admired? When a legends returned was much anticipated? When respect was given? These are things crossing Jake Benson's mind as he sits in his first class seat aboard the plane headed to Minneapolis. The stewardess replaces his empty glass with a new one filled with MUG root beer. He slowly sips at his drink, before looking towards the cameraman.
Jake:The first CWF Payperview of 2009 and who's headlining it? Is it Jake Benson? No. Is it Punisher? No. Is it any person who's formed as a legend? In a way, yes. Tweeks is currently sitting in the main event. Who joins him? Possibly Eryk Ince, CJ Tyler or the current joke of a champion, Alonzo Parker...what a poor run of opponents for such a worthy foe. But where are the true veterans and stars of CWF? In idiotic filler matches. Now Punisher and I have had differences in the past. We've fought many times, in fact we had an incredible rivalry in 2007 that brought CWF's rating to the top, above the competition. Myself, Jake Benson, I brought CWF the most dominating year of it's existence. I tied for Warrior of the Year with Levi Russow. I was the World Champion, a Tag Team Champion and one of the greatest inductees into the CWF Hall of Living Legends. Yet here I sit, knowing that I'm taking time and energy out of my life for a match that's simply filler. Something that is supposed to "add new sense" to characters. What is Psycho Luke on? Wait, I'm sure I don't want to know. Whatever it is, he's taking too much. He'd rather have these freaks that believe they're Christmas characters running around. He'd rather have a drunk standing in contention for the CWF World Championship. Where is the legendary battles? Where is the classics? That's what made CWF great, now it's simply a new over jazzed version of Vince McMahon's company. It's not talent that gets over anymore, it's all about what's fun for the kiddies! How cute a guy is determines how big of a star he'll be. It's ridiculous.
Jake finishes his root beer and puts the glass down.
Jake: Funny how it's exactly the skills that put us at the top of the company that makes us "boring" in his eyes. Yet he'll give us a chance to keep our personalities. He uses the term "gimmick". But what gimmick? Is he talking about the fact that in reality I helped save his company? Is he talking backstage talk? Cause what he has, is simply a pissed off warrior right now. I don't deserve this. There is no gimmick here. This is Jake Benson at his pure. You see, the Jake Benson that he used to know. The one who would go out of his way to help him is gone. The one who wanted CWF to be a sucess...he's gone. The one who put over the little guys, who tried to encourage them to keep trying even though there was no way in hell they would rise up. He's gone. Jake Benson is what stands here. The sadistic, mean and utterly enraged asshole who stands before everyone. Everything that I was is long gone, and now you're left with someone who's going to make sure that everything fails. I will not change, I will not differ, I will not end this.
Benson leans back in his chair.
Jake: You see, I know that CWF is on an uprise right now. Everyone wants the latest CWF merchandise. They want to see the jokes like Evan Star and Gato move up the ranks. They're sick of the same old shit. That's the way the industry is, and I've always adapted, but never fully changed! Why mess with a winning combination? It's exactly what has lead me to a ten year plus legacy. These new stars, they'll get bored in a few months, maybe a year at most, then they'll be gone. What will be left? Nothing. You see, I've been talking about the fact that Psycho Luke is eventually gonna realize that he needs the very people sitting on his roster, those legends that originally made him, but I'm not waiting for that anymore. You see, I'd rather not waste my time. I put in an effort, I help to rise this above the rest, but THEN I'm left for nothing. CWF can rot as far as I'm concerned. This match is a perfect example of why I believe this. Lance Khaos, who barely stays in the company long enough to say two words and who will probably drop out the moment he loses, he's stuck in this match against myself and Punisher, a veteran who also helped make this company though i'll admit he hasn't done much in the last little while. Why would Luke do this? Honestly after all the battles Punisher and I have had and he sticks us in a match for a gimmick change with some reject poser. This is unbelievable, this is completely ludicrous and the only reason I'm competing is because I love to cause pain. I'm only going through with this match is because I have something to prove. I'm going to prove that the wrestling world still needs me, that CWF requires my skills to survive, that the sheep who watch their screens now need to be shattered and broken along with their heroes. After Lance Khaos is destroyed, it'll be down to Punisher and I. True talent colliding! And that's what will make this match a complete classic, a true show. After we tear the house down, after the smoke has settled and I walk away from the carnage I've reek upon Punisher. My point will be proven. That Luke's new idea of talent, that his new ideas to shake things up, will simply not be good enough to save this sinking ship. And I'll be watching as it slowly disappears into the sea!
Jake chuckles to himself then turns away from the camera.
