Another CWF house show is taking place before the next edition of Redemption. The mood in the arena is the usual one of excitement. The fans seeing their favorite warriors and valkries in action live. As the lights go dim there is the familiar silence of the fans waiting to decide whether they will cheer or boo. Suddenly "Trap Star" by Young Jeezy begins to play and the crowd erupts in the mixture of cheers and boos that J-Roc has grown accustomed to. As he appears from the back he is dressed in a white wifebeater and shorts. He has one tag team championship around his waist and the other on his shoulder. He has on his trademark dollar sign chain and his watch. Also there are his diamond earings and black stunna shades. He makes his way slowly down the aisle and enters the ring. He takes a mic from his back pocket and starts to speak as the music fades.
J-Roc: I know I haven't been seen too much around here as of late. I have let a lot of people down including myself. I let down you fans, and I let down the owner of this company. I let down my folks in Miami, my family and friends. For that I apologize. I'm sorry.
He stops for a moment to let what he's said sink in.
J-Roc: You see I have become what I hate most. And that is one of those people who don't give back to the company that gives them the chance to do what they love. And I love this place, this place is home. You will never see J-Roc in a ring that isn't owned by the CWF. This is one hell of a place. This is the kind of place that gives a young new team a shot at the tag team titles. This is the place that allows guys to come back and compete after they've put it down. After they've talked shit about it, after they've sworn to never come back, they're allowed back in with open arms. Why? So you people can see the top performers in this industry. So there can be no doubt that things are fair and balanced. This is the kind of place that creates a tournament where newcomers can win a shot at the world title. And the only thing asked in return is loyalty. Some dedication. The only thing expected of you is to do your part to keep the machine running.
J-Roc: I haven't been doing too much of that myself. That makes me pissed of at myself. If there is one thing that I can't stand it's the guys who just show up for matches. Guys who are more than happy to sit back and watch this company die. It never will, but they wouldn't mind if it did. They'd just go somewhere else and do the same thing. I despise that and yet I have been doing just that. I have been in a slump lately. A creative slump, and an overall disgust with my career. I came here for two reasons. To put on a show for you people, and to have fun. Lately things haven't been fun for me. Lately I've lost the joy I find in doing this. The reason for that is partners. Tag team partners. Don't get me wrong, the tag team championship is prestigeous. I'm damn honored to be a champion. It meant a lot to me to win them, and it means a lot to me to defend them. Only the partners I've had never seem to feel the same way. What I'm getting at is, there's trouble in paradise. The Southside Connection is dead. Dead in the water. Every guy me and Law recruited failed. Outlaw himself, he's MIA.
J-Roc: I've read the blogs. I've heard the rumors. Outlaw is injured. Outlaw quit because he didn't win the tournament. Outlaw was abducted by aliens. The bottom line is, he's gone. Just like Gato he decided to disappear. Maybe it's me, maybe I'm just not a people person. What I do know is the Outlaw I got to know, and you can believe this is a shoot, the Outlaw I knew the same one who told me about his life. The same guy who I told about my life, he was a stand up guy. One day he was just gone. Ghost. Not even a goodbye or a Dear John letter. He left me hangin' left me stranded. So you wonder why you haven't seen me? That's why. I couldn't come out here and pretend everything was okay. I couldn't dodge questions about the whereabouts of my partner. So I stayed out of the spotlight. I stayed off tv, and I stayed out of arenas.
J-Roc: Now I'm not gonna tell you that none of this is my fault. That would be like Billy Anderson telling you his match with JC Styles is gonna be the best match on the Redemption card, you know better. I take my part of the blame. I chose to team with guys, who after all just couldn't stand not bein' the top dog. Guys who didn't know the meaning of the word partner. I have spent my career here depending on others. No more. As far as Outlaw, since he never officially accepted his half of the championship, I'm taking it back. He's out. After all he never did a damn thing to earn it, and obviously didn't want it. So I stand here as THE tag team champion, and it doesn't look like I have too much of a chance against CJ and Rob all by myself. Maybe losing would be a blessing in disguise. Either way I'm not going down without a fight. And if I do win, I'll recruit another partner one who WANTS a part of the titles.
J-Roc: So there it is. I'm back. I'm back and I'm taking control of my career. I'm refocused, and I'm gonna become the warrior people used to think I could be.
He takes off his shades and smiles into the camera.
J-Roc: I'm back and at Redemption let's see if I've got one more trick up my sleeve. CJ and Rob don't pop the top off the champagne bottles just yet, cause the sultan of swagger just might surprise you.
"Trap Star" plays again as J exits the ring slapping the hands of some of the fans as he walks the aisle.
