CWF cameras are rolling as a black stretch limo pulls into the back entrance of the arena. The car parks and the driver gets out, walks to the back and opens the door. Evan Starr steps out dressed in a blue dress shirt with the sleeves untied and rolled slightly up. He also wears black slacks, dress shoes, and shades. He is talking on his cell phone. The driver opens the trunk and fetches Evan's bags. Evan enters the arena, and is immeadiatley approached by a CWF staff member. He follows the staff employee down the hall, into a designated room. The camera picks up some of Evan's phone conversation as he walks "that's just what I was thinking Ivan. You're 100% right. That's a solid investment." Evan opens the door as he arrives at his destination. Bob Bikkleton is there, seated ready to begin an interview. Evan takes a seat as well and removes his shades. He is handed a bottle of water as Bob speaks.
"You ready to begin Evan?"
Evan nods and Bob shuffles some papers, as he prepares. It is unclear if the papers hold questions Bob has written down, or things Evan explicitly asked to be discussed. Bob begins the interview.
"It's been a while since we've done a sit down interview, but as I've gotten to know you somewhat I know
you're a man who likes to elaborate on things, and are adament about saying what you want to say. I was told you had several
things you wanted to go over, so I'll start with this week's Redemption. You will once again team with MaKenna Burns to take on Kenzie and her partner Arron Masters. What are your thoughts on this match?"
"Well Bob, my thoughts on this match are that it will be yet another victory for MaKenna and I. This week Kenzie must team with a replacement partner. A stand in. Perhaps the only person in the world foolish enough to accept a match in which he'll be facing the hottest star in this industry. You see some may look at this match and wonder why I'm involved. My target was Tweeks, Kenzie was MaKenna's target. Their issues may well have been solved in a singles match. After all, it isn't my fault Tweeks no-showed last week. The answer is because my alliance with MaKenna is the hottest news item in this company. In merely a week we have set this place on fire. In merely a week people are recognizing just how dominant a duo we are. And Arron Masters, he was a target all along, albeit not an immeadiate one. Arron Masters is guilty by association. Arron Masters has chosen to be a part of the group that includes Kenzie and Tweeks. The very group MaKenna and I are about to bring down. Arron Masters, aside from that is someone I have zero respect for. This is a guy, who much like Tweeks, is where he's at no more than for the company he keeps. This man is in the Hall of Living Legends simply because of who his friends are. I take exception to that. I have single handedly forged my legacy in this business all on my own. With no help, no connections, I have risen through these ranks and am widely regarded as the absolute best. Arron Masters has earned nothing. Zero. He seems to think life is one big joke. He thinks this is a damn cartoon. Well, Arron this is no cartoon, and at Redemption nothing is going to help you. Not your friendships, not your history here. Nothing is going to stop the inevitable from occuring. Nothing is gonna stop me from demonstrating for you just how out of your league you are."
"So what does this mean for your fued with Tweeks?"
"Well Tweeks and I are going to face off. That much is guaranteed. I will be walking away from the next pay per view with the world title he currently holds. The first part of my plan was to get in his head, to rattle him the way he has countless others. That's accomplished, because no matter what he says, there's trouble in paradise. Tweeks has been in that ring with me. He knows who the better athlete is. Why didn't he show up last week? There's a million theories out there. There just happens to be one credible one. The fact is Tweeks
doesn't want to face me. I will say this about Tweeks, he is very savvy. He is intelligent. He was the first big name established guy
to recognize just how good I was. He was the first guy to say, "You know what? A person could make some money with Evan Starr." He knew that it was only a matter of time before I became the dominant member of the CWF roster. He stepped in that ring with me, and in his mind, I wasn't ready. He was going to beat me. But, the opposie happened, my hand was raised in victory. Say what you want to about how it happened, but I was victorious. Then and there he realized, that one day I, would be the number one man in this company. Now, he dosen't want to face me. Sure he can come out to the ring, poke me in the chest, make some smart ass comments. Because he knows security will seperate us, his title won't be in danger. He still holds out some hope that he can get in my head. He still holds hope that he can do to me what he has done to others, but it won't happen. I'm the one who is in his head. Like it or not, just because of who he is people want to keep it silent. People like Arron Masters, everybody wants to forget last week. They want to get over it. They want to sweep it under the rug. I say no. I'm going to keep talking about it, remind people that the reason Tweeks didn't show up was Evan Starr."
"I don't want to change the subject necessarily, but we will have plenty of time to talk about Tweeks when you two square off, as you mentioned on the pay per view. What about Kenzie though? Are you merely going after her on MaKenna's behalf? Or do you have a legitimate grudge against her as well?"
"Well Bob, my respect for your journalism just went down a few notches. I have made it clear on more than one occasion, that the whole backstage alliance is a target of not just MaKenna, but myself as well. I feel no need to mention all the members again, but they have all perpetually pulled each other up time and again. They lend the proverbial helping hand to one another. This is why they must go. But, on a personal note, I have no respect for Kenzie. She is one of the most dreadful people I have ever seen. She is Tweeks' other half, however turbulent the relationship might be at this time. She is just another example of gaining your spot based of relationships to others. MaKenna is the superior sister, as well as the classier one."
"So you don't feel Arron Masters may be a threat? Say what you will, the man has achieved some impressive things."
"Bob, if you will, put yourself in Arron's shoes. Or any of the CWF "legends" for that matter. The same five or six guys run the show for years. They dominate, and monopolize the main event scene forever. Countless mid-carders and journeymen pass through, some even achieving moderate success. But, inevitably they all come up short. They all pack up and move along. Things are great at the top. But, then out of nowhere a man shows up. A man who is all alone. A man who doesn't know anybody. A man who says he will be the best ever. People have heard it all before, so things continue as always. As time passes though, this man does everything he said he was going to do. Suddenly he is right there on the precipe of the elite. Suddenly he is on the doorstep of greatness. It's not business as usual. People are getting nervous. I showed up Bob, and I moved forward, never stopping never resting. I never asked for a sick day. I never called in. I never made an excuse. I came out and impressed. When Kevin "Dimlight" Lee was telling the world he was next in line for a world title shot, I beat him, and he vanished. When Erik Ince wanted to get his career back, regain focus, I beat him and knocked him back down to Earth. When The Punisher wanted to punish me for being, as he put it scum, I punished him instead. And yes, when Tweeks wanted to teach the green upstart a lesson, I thwarted him by pinning his shoulders to the mat for the three count. Bob, if you're a betting man, you have to look at what I've done. You have to go with your gut, and the smart money says I'm the next world champion. The smart money says this week at Redemption myself and MaKenna Burns will once again leave with our hands held high."
"Well Evan, I think you've made yourself very clear. Thank you for your time, I hope everyone watching tunes in to Redemption. I know
I will."
Evan stands up, puts his shades back on, and the scene fades.
"You ready to begin Evan?"
Evan nods and Bob shuffles some papers, as he prepares. It is unclear if the papers hold questions Bob has written down, or things Evan explicitly asked to be discussed. Bob begins the interview.
