The CWF cameras begin rolling in the jam sized arena within the building of the Staples Center Arena, situated in Los Angeles. A press conference featuring THQ developers and CWF’s own former two-time World Champion Alonzo Parker and ‘The Epic’ Evan Starr is set to take place in mere moments, its main purpose being to gain more publicity for the very anticipated CWF 2009 video game. Before us, we see a set of black chairs and PA systems accommodate Alonzo Parker, who is seen in crutches as a result of his fractured tibia injury a couple of months ago. By his side is the ever cocky Evan Starr, and of course lovely luscious ladies to keep both gentlemen ‘occupied’. On the other side of the podium, there's another set of black chairs with mainly the THQ crew. They’re here to make a few announcements regarding the newly added features, revamped game play and much more. A vast set of mixed colored ceiling lights shifts there hues and shades to a fine white light veering over the head of Parker. The Spotlight hears his name being called as he limps his way to the center stage over the black, thick shelled marble podium. Wearing a set of Dolce & Gabanna wear, and his most expensive pair of sunglasses, he looks over at the hundreds of fans and reporters who decided to come down. He twists the cap off of his water bottle and takes a few sips, before pulling out a copy of the Video game. Alonzo waves it around, grinning as he points out to two familiar faces on the cover.
Alonzo Parker: CWF ’09… the official video game of Championship Wrestling Federation. That’s pretty big news right there, and I know everyone is excited about this future release. There are speculations that this may be the biggest wrestling game in history, and without name-dropping any other irrelevant companies but this is sure to blow out the competition. Why, you may ask? Why is this game so highly anticipated? Well, look on the cover and there you have it; the biggest draws in professional wrestling today! (His index finger taps on the pictures of himself and his protégé Evan Starr on the cover, the crowd having mixed reactions on this). Don’t get me wrong, I’ve played this game and the controls are excellent. The graphics are near-perfect, the voice-overs are extremely accurate; the developers definitely did a phenomenal job. But let’s get real… at the end of the day, even if it’s the worst game ever produced, even if it’s trash, even if this box art doesn’t even contain the damn disc to play it, people WILL buy this product because OUR faces are on it. It’s as simple as that. Evan and I rake the green for this company. We sell out every seat in the arenas no matter how loved or hated we are, we bring in ratings… and most now with this new upcoming release, we will single handedly sellout this new CWF ’09 video game. Bank on that. Any questions?
A reporter steps up.
Reporter #1: Hey this is Greg, I was just wondering when you were planning on returning to the ring?
Alonzo Parker: As soon as I get my medical clearance to compete in an actual match, but I expect to be back in action in early May the latest. I’ve had my surgery, and recently I’ve entered a grueling rehabilitation process so my comeback shouldn’t be too far away.
Reporter #2: What will you be doing in the meantime?
Alonzo Parker: What I’ve been doing for the past few months, I’ll continue providing guidance to my protégé Evan over here, so you can look ahead to me reprising my temporary manager role. I’ll be behind this kid throughout his journey to the top, that’s a guarantee.
Reporter #3: Alright, hypothetically speaking Alonzo, let’s say Evan wins the CWF World Championship from Tweeks. And by then you get your medical clearance, what would be next for The Spotlight.
Alonzo looks back at Evan and smirks. They both taunt each other playfully.
Alonzo Parker: We’ll have to wait and see. That’s it for questions, people. Now, without any further adieu… please put your hands together for the NEXT CWF World Champion… The Epic, Mr. Evan Starr!
TBCB Evan Starr only.
